About the program

High school students interested in stage production can get hands-on experience through Backstage Spotlight, our technical arts training program.

Students participate in seven sessions throughout the school year, culminating in seeing a professional performance as a group.

From lighting and sound to rigging and scenic design, students learn an array of technical skills from the Center’s professional production staff.

Students also develop project portfolios to demonstrate their stage technician abilities to colleges and future employers. At the completion of this course, students leave with a foundation of technical theatre knowledge and the confidence to pursue career opportunities in the field.

Backstage Spotlight is supported by Fichtenbaum Charitable Trust.
